First Year Costume rendering in my Production course at VCA. We had to choose one of the 7 Deadly Sins as presented in Christopher Marlowe's Dr Faustus. I chose Sloth because it was the least popular (lust and pride being the top-picked).
It was fascinating researching the origins of the sin and I found it had more to do with "sloth" of a religious nature rather than physical. Back in Marlowe's day, being religiously lax was actually considered far greater a sin than any other due to the idea of being morally vulnerable to spiritual corruption.
This particular rendering is a good reflection of my early need to include as many ideas in my work as possible; I used to think it if I didn't, my lecturer wouldn't appreciate how much energy I put into my research process. As a result the design is very busy, too many ideas going on lol.
